XT-606

19.00  (EOT)

The XT-606 continues on the path laid by the predecessors XT-808 and XT-909. What you get is a faithfully sampled original TR-606 – but this one is a bit broken, and has a few flaws. That is all part of the charm, in our perspective. To supplement it, we’ve added samples from the more recent (and better behaving) Behringer RD-6 – and as usual a number of custom sounds from our modular synths.

A new feature in this kit is Authentic Accent which captures the different levels of drive added by the Accent-fader on the TR-606 / RD-6. When adjusting the Accent fader, you not only affect the volume of accented notes: You also get a different set of samples. 12 levels of accents were sampled for all the TR-606 / RD-6 sounds, and each level has their own 5 round-robin variants.

The TR-606 is a great choice for old-school electro. We realized this, and gave this kit a few extra tweaks, specifically for all the electro heads: For snares 7-12 (the SD-2 group) you get a Formant cross-fader with individual decay adjustment for each of the two Formants. This opens up for some really cool sounds that will fit nicely into any electro track. We also replaced shakers and cowbells with some true analogue filter zaps – Kraftwerk style 😉

BMS (Beaotic Mapping Standard)
Note and control mapping are the same across all Beaotic kits, making it possible to exchange kits along the way without thinking about note and control data.
RANDOM SAMPLE SELECT Every time a note is triggered, a random variation of the designated sample (different from the two previous) is triggered. This custom algorithm effectively eliminates the so-called machine gun effect.
VELOCITY ACCENT adds a random sample select layer for velocities at or above 85. Velocities at or below 84 hold the random sample select layer without Accent. This makes it possible to mimic Accent on a per-note basis. The Accent slider controls the Volume on the accent layers.
AUTHENTIC ACCENT When adjusting the Accent fader in this kit, you'll not only adjust the volume of the accented notes: You'll also access variations of the designated sound, corresponding with the accent-setting of the original hardware.
FORMANT represents variations of SD2 sounds sampled through Frap Tools Fumana 16 band filter bank. This gives you the control to morph between two formant settings. The first 3 SD2 sounds morph from low end to high end filters, while the next 3 sounds morph between odd and even numbered filters.
NOTE EDIT is where you make individual adjustments of Pitch, Level, Pan and Output of each notes's sound. Pitch can be either absolute or relative to that of the group.
High Sample Rate All samples in every Beaotic kit are recorded at 96 kHz. This gives each sound a more accurate amount of overtones, notably when pitched down. Of course it's all recorded in 24 bit with the shortest possible signal chain.
FREE UPDATES are included for the entire product lifetime. All accessories, templates and guides will be developed and made available on this webpage for free as well.
